I'm Desiree - a founder-operator who builds products from zero and leads design at the highest level. I don't choose between thinking like a CEO and designing like a creative director. I do both.

About

Product and design leader with 10+ years building 0 to 1 products across AI, B2B SaaS, proptech, and design tech. I operate at the intersection of product strategy and design excellence without choosing between them.
I've led full product and design direction at the executive level, taken a company through a successful exit, and shipped a full featured AI platform independently in under 8 months. I thrive in ambiguous, high stakes environments where clarity of vision and speed of execution both matter.
Two master's degrees - Design Management from Pratt Institute and Interior Architecture from FIU. Based in Tampa, FL. Open to remote leadership roles.

AI Infrastructure · CPO & Co-Founder · Nov 2025–Present
The operating system for architecture and interior design studios - built from zero to investor-backed in under 8 months.
The Problem
Architecture and interior design studios lose enormous amounts of institutional knowledge every day. Design decisions get buried in email threads. Project context lives in someone's head. When a team member leaves or a project winds down, the intelligence built across months of work disappears.
The tools that exist - generic project management, scattered documentation platforms, disconnected communication apps - weren't built for the way design studios actually work.

What I Built
I built the full product independently using AI-assisted development tools - from concept through a complete, feature-rich application - in under 8 months, with no engineering team.
Post-investment, I brought on an engineering team to handle security hardening and production launch. I managed that process as CPO while continuing to own the product vision, design direction, and go-to-market strategy.
Scope: product architecture, UX/UI, information architecture, AI workflow design, investor storytelling, fundraising, go-to-market, and engineering team management.
Outcome
Archen is investor-backed and preparing for launch. Product available by private demo upon request.
B2B SaaS · Design Director & Product Systems Lead · 2020–2023
Three years leading product and design strategy for a platform that wanted to change how professionals achieve goals through their networks.
The Challenge
Relatus had an ambitious vision: a single profile encompassing all aspects of a professional's life - network, goals, ambitions - and using that data to help them achieve more. When I joined, there was no visual identity, no design system, no established product direction. I built all of it from scratch.
What I Owned
Brand identity from zero: Logo, color system, typographic hierarchy, tone of voice - including a comprehensive brand guidelines document.
Product design system: Component library, interaction patterns, and documentation enabling a distributed team to ship consistently across 6 major releases.
Product strategy: Worked directly with the CPO to define product direction, prioritize features, and align design with business goals.
Investor storytelling: All pitch materials, investor decks, and partnership presentations supporting $2.2M raised.

Consumer Marketplace · Beauty Tech · Mobile-First
Democratizing access to beauty - connecting consumers with stylists based on hair type, aesthetic, and personal needs.
The Vision
Finding a stylist who truly understands your hair type, aesthetic, and needs is genuinely hard. The existing tools - Google searches, Instagram scrolling, word of mouth - are inefficient and unreliable.
Hairvine set out to be the trusted recommendation from a knowledgeable friend: personalized, curated, and confidence-inspiring.
Design Approach
Mobile-first was non-negotiable. I designed the full UX flow, visual identity, and pitch assets - making the experience work beautifully at arm's length, on a small screen, in a moment of low patience.
The color system was built to represent the full diversity of hair types and skin tones - a deliberate product decision that signaled inclusion as a core brand value, not an afterthought.
Proptech · Exit + Acquisition Integration · 2019–2020
I built Lot Pop, sold it in 6 months, then stayed to lead the product and brand integration at the company that acquired it.
The Story
Lot Pop was my first company. I founded it, owned every dimension of the product and brand, and took it to a successful acquisition within 6 months. Dwellio then asked me to stay on as Lead Product Designer to integrate Lot Pop's brand and product into their platform.
I went from founder to acquired designer overnight - leading the creative and strategic work of merging two companies' identities into one coherent product.
Brand System
Dwellio's vision called for a brand that felt warm, playful, and genuinely human. I built the full visual identity: logo, color system, illustration language, and a brand world that extended from the app to the web to physical merchandise.
Investor Storytelling
I designed the full investor prospectus, balancing data visualization, brand narrative, and product storytelling into a cohesive document that supported the fundraising process.
Hospitality Design · Lead Designer · Jennifer Post Design · 2017–2018
Lead designer for the hotel lobby and lounge redesign of one of New York City's most distinctive boutique hotels - later featured in Architectural Digest.
The Project
The AKA Tribeca lobby and lounge redesign called for a space that felt both intimate and elevated - a place where hotel guests could settle in, have a drink, and feel like they were somewhere genuinely special rather than generically luxurious.
Working within Jennifer Post Design's framework of refined minimalism, I led the spatial design development, material direction, furniture selections, and presentation coordination throughout the design development phase. The project required navigating a complex set of stakeholders while maintaining a singular creative vision.
Design Direction
The material palette balanced warmth and sophistication - brass detailing, onyx bar surfaces, curvaceous seating forms that invited lingering, and a carefully curated art program that gave the space personality without loudness.
The lounge was conceived as a series of distinct moments: the bar as a destination, the fireplace as an anchor, and the private alcoves as intimate counterpoints to the more social main room.
Press
The AKA Tribeca lobby and lounge was featured in Architectural Digest as part of a story on Jennifer Post's first hotel project.
Luxury Residential · Lead Designer · Sojo Design · 2016–2017
A full-scope luxury residential project on Fisher Island, Miami Beach - published in LUXE Interiors + Design, March/April 2018.
The Project
Fisher Island is one of the most exclusive addresses in the United States - accessible only by ferry, with a density of wealth and expectation that demands every design decision be defensible at the highest level.
This full-scope residential project required managing design direction, client presentations, material selections, vendor coordination, and project documentation across multiple phases of delivery - from concept through installation.
Design Direction
The design language was grounded in warmth and restraint - rich walnut millwork, a curated art collection integrated throughout, and an outdoor living program that took full advantage of the water views surrounding the property.
Each space was conceived as a complete world: the kitchen as a professional-grade workspace with sculptural presence, the master suite as a retreat that moved seamlessly between bedroom, bathroom, and terrace, and the living areas as galleries for the client's impressive art collection.
Press
The Fisher Island penthouse was published in LUXE Interiors + Design, March/April 2018, under the headline "A Design Collaboration Leads To A Lasting Friendship." The project was led by Sojo Design principal Sofia Joelsson, with this project completed under her direction.
